I have talked to my nursing school adviser at least three times on the phone and told her the EXACT same information. What classes I finished in the spring, that I requested my transcripts, that yes, i’m already registered for physiology this summer.
As if the three phone conversations weren’t enough (one of them at 9 am when I had been sleeping) I’ve sent her AT LEAST 3 emails on the same subjects!!
What you can’t write it down in my file or on a post it note or SOMETHING?!?!

If being a nurse doesn’t work out I should become a counselor.. I’ve actually got half a brain, I might be able to get all kinds of stuff done!
post my damn grades school!! i need to know if i should hole up in my room and cry or not…
A student blows up at a teacher, drops the F-bomb. The usual approach at Lincoln – and, safe to say, at most high schools in this country – is automatic suspension. Instead, Sporleder sits the kid down and says quietly: “Wow. Are you OK? This doesn’t sound like you. What’s going on?”
He gets even more specific: “You really looked stressed. On a scale of 1-10, where are you with your anger?” The kid was ready. Ready, man! For an anger blast to his face….”How could you do that?” “What’s wrong with you?”…and for the big boot out of school. But he was NOT ready for kindness.
The armor-plated defenses melt like ice under a blowtorch and the words pour out: “My dad’s an alcoholic. He’s promised me things my whole life and never keeps those promises.” The waterfall of words that go deep into his home life, which is no piece of breeze, end with this sentence: “I shouldn’t have blown up at the teacher.” Whoa.

what a radical idea yo

This is what needs to happen. I don’t know anyone who is just an angry person for no reason. This teacher is awesome.

83% of American households have combined incomes under $100,000.
(But this points to something much more interesting, which is that almost all of us feel like we are middle class. Do you think that you’re middle class? I certainly do. I remember in high school, my European History teacher asked us to raise our hands if we considered ourselves middle class, and every single person in class raised his or her hand except for this one guy, who was the heir to a department store fortune. I laughed at the time, but in retrospect he was one of very few people who answered honestly. If you’re in that top 25%, meaning that you have two parents who work and who both earn more than $50,000 a year, you are much wealthier than most American families. Like, this guy comes off as a total brat, but most people in his position probably have the exact same experience.)
This is interesting.. I’ve never seen this with scholarships so much… but I never qualify for any financial aid because my family “makes too much money”. I find this stupid because 1. my parents income is counted towards my financial aid whether or not they’re helping me pay for college. It doesn’t matter if they are giving me absolutely no support, I still can’t have financial aid. 2. Just because your parents make a nice amount of money does not mean that they can afford to pay for you college completely or partially. (What if they have lots of kids?).
If so, you’re just shit outta luck. You’ve got the option to take out all kinds of student loans and pay them back for the next 15-20 years.
| Student: | I'm not going to go to college because I don't want to go into debt. |
| USA: | YOU USELESS PIECE OF SHIT. YOU'RE GOING TO AMOUNT TO NOTHING YOU FUCKING SCUMBAG. YOU'RE THE REASON WHY MY TAXES ARE SO HIGH. |
| Student: | I'm just going to attend a small community college instead. |
| USA: | HAHAHA YOU WERE TOO STUPID TO GET INTO A GOOD UNIVERSITY. ENJOY YOUR MCDONALD'S DIPLOMA. |
| Student: | I attended a four year university and received a diploma in a field I am interested in. Now I am $50,000+ in debt. |
| USA: | YOU DUMBASS. WHY THE FUCK DID YOU GO TO COLLEGE WHEN YOU KNOW YOU COULDN'T AFFORD IT? YOU DIDN'T EVEN CHOOSE A USEFUL MAJOR EITHER. GOD PEOPLE LIKE YOU MAKE ME SICK. |
i should really be studying for my anatomy practical tomorrow… but i can’t force myself to get off of tumblr!
